IRS Taxes for U.S. Expats

As a friendly reminder to fellow U.S. expats living in Vietnam and elsewhere, residence outside of the United States does not exempt U.S. Citizens or even U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card-holders) from having to file U.S. Federal income tax returns. In other words, even if you live and work abroad, you are still generally obligated to file U.S. tax returns every year.

So you just had your interview for a visa with the U.S. Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City or the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, and you were informed that your visa application was denied.
